How engagements begin

Most engagements start with a conversation — sometimes in person, sometimes by email or LinkedIn, occasionally both. There is no charge for an initial discussion, and no obligation on either side. The goal of that first conversation is simply to understand the situation clearly enough to determine whether Gwanda Consulting is the right fit.

If it is, a detailed Scope of Work is developed collaboratively, followed by a formal proposal covering scope, timeline and fees. Nothing proceeds until both parties are satisfied with the terms.

Engagements can be structured as focused assignments, whether of short or longer duration, or as longer-term advisory relationships, depending on what the situation requires.

Confidentiality

Clients routinely share sensitive technical, commercial and operational information in the course of an engagement.

That information is treated with complete discretion, and Gwanda Consulting is comfortable working under client confidentiality agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, as a matter of course.

If you have specific confidentiality requirements, raise them early — they are never an obstacle to getting started.

Reach and resources

Gwanda Consulting is a specialist independent practice. For engagements that require additional technical resource — whether in specific commodity areas, disciplines or geographies — Gwanda Consulting maintains working relationships with a small number of trusted, experienced associates who can be brought in as needed.

This means clients get the responsiveness and focus of a specialist independent, with access to broader capability — though still independent — when the scope demands it.

A practical note

Gwanda Consulting is based in Australia and works with clients globally. Remote engagement — whether by video, email or document exchange — is entirely workable where it fits the purpose. Where the scope or the client requires it, Brian is available to work on site — whether that's a project site, an operating plant or a boardroom — anywhere in the world.
